Corporate Partners Program

The Corporate Partners Program seeks to speed the process of green-innovation by partnering with companies who believe in fostering a corporate culture that embraces both success and environmental responsibility.

Corporate Partners Program
Professor Magali Delmas and Benedict Schwegler, SVP/Chief Scientist Walt Disney Imagineering and ESE Alumn, Class 1999.

Developed by the IoES's Center for Corporate Environmental Performance with input from a number of globally recognized leaders in "green business," including several companies ranked in the highly competitive Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, the Corporate Partners Program draws upon the philosophy that the development and communication of effective environmental practices and products is both good corporate citizenship and good business.

The Corporate Partners Program was developed by the IoES as an opportunity for companies and their leadership interested in green-innovation to engage with UCLA's world-class faculty, researchers and students on environmental issues in a business context: identification and development of business opportunities and forward thinking market strategies.

  • Invitations to special business and policy oriented events to interact with experts and exchange best practice ideas
  • Prominent recognition for your organization's commitment and dedication to the advancement of ecologically sound business practices
  • Access to a talented pool of faculty, researchers, future professionals and leaders

IoES benefits from

  • The opportunity to learn from member companies and executives whose insights and professional experiences inform and shape the growing green economy
  • The support for high quality research and education on the environment and sustainability

Together, we will

  • Advance ecologically sound business practices
  • Cultivate and groom the next generation of leaders in environmental enterprise

Testimonials

New working relationships like this, between business and the University, are essential to creating an economy that reduces carbon emissions and increases jobs.”

— Mary Nichols, Chair, California Air Resources Board

“When, as a business owner you are given an opportunity to associate yourself or to partner with such an organization like the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, you don’t think twice—it’s an honor to have our names mentioned together. My staff and I learn through their lecture series and corporate boot camp and we hope to contribute to the diversity by sharing our real world experiences.”

— Loren Witkin, Principal, Citadel Environmental Services, Inc.

“Our attorneys constantly strive to stay on the cutting-edge of environmental issues impacting our clients, so the firm’s new partnership with UCLA was a natural fit as we continue to provide clients with sophisticated legal and business counsel on a range of environmental matters. We are honored to be joining such an esteemed network of academics and companies globally-recognized for promoting green innovation, and we look forward to working together to stay at the forefront of the latest environmental research and technological advances.”

— Craig A. Moyer, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Division, Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP

"Vertum Partners is an early phase, small business start-up. The partnership was established after recognizing that the atmospheric modeling capabilities of the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability's regional climate group could be disseminated to the renewable energy business community through the combined expertise of our three founders. We hope to continue to learn from the research being conducted and the researchers themselves at the Institute of the Environment and UCLA as a whole."

— Cameron Whiteman, Managing Partner, All Vertum Partners
