Santa Monica Public Library Presents the Sixth Annual Green Prize for Sustainable Literature

A fascinating discussion on how reading can lead to action, transforming knowledge into power will be held on Saturday, September 22nd at the Main Library in the Martin Luther King Auditorium located at 601 Santa Monica Blvd. in Santa Monica.  A panel of environmental leaders will discuss the challenges within the green movement and ways that everyday heroes are addressing them.  The event will be followed by a zero-waste reception featuring vegetarian snacks and light refreshments.

Panelists include:
• Jordan Howard, Environmental Your Activist and Educator;
• Damon Nagami, Senior Attorney, Natural Resources Defense Council; and
• Professor Daniel Blumstein, Chair of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCLA and co-author of The Failure of Environmental Education (And How We Can Fix It), and Eating Our Way to Civility: A Dinner Party Guide.
