UCLA Change Consortium Roundtable
TOPIC: CMIP5 -- Updated Global Climate Models and the opportunity they provide
Tuesday, May 08, 2012
4:00 PM
La Kretz Hall, Suite 300, large conference room
Alex Hall will lead a discussion about CMIP5, the framework of new Global Climate Models being used (among other things) for the upcoming 5th Assessment Report of the IPCC. Alex hopes that the conversation can focus on how CMIP5 offers many latent possibilities for collaborations, proposals, and projects. With CMIP5 (as opposed to CMIP3), there are very interesting paleo and carbon cycle dimensions, which ought to suit the interests of this group well. Attached is the experimental design for CMIP5, to guide our discussion.
