Featuring Madeline Brozen, UCLA Complete Streets Inititaive Program Director

This talk centers on how planning for bicycles and pedestrians is integrated to complete streets planning. This will include a brief history of complete streets, historic funding sources and how funding changed in the new federal transportation bill. The talk will include sections regarding how policy and street design manuals affect project implementation. Lastly, Madeline will discuss recent parklet implementation efforts in Los Angeles as a case study for understanding the complexities of implementing innovative street design.
