Peter Barsuk
With 20 years of experience in the design and construction industry as an architect and green building specialist, Peter Barsuk is a Studio Director and Project Manager for Gensler’s Los Angeles office. Over his career, Mr. Barsuk has been involved in a wide variety of project types including institutional architecture, office headquarters, K-12, higher education, health care and entertainment. His current work at Gensler includes projects for USC, Port of Long Beach, Loyola Marymount, Ventura College, and New Community Jewish High School in Los Angeles. Mr. Barsuk recently completed projects for Santa Monica College, San Jose Airport, Cathay Bank, as well as assisting LA Community College District with their Sustainability Guidelines. In his role as an architectural project manager, Peter is at the forefront of how technological innovations are changing the building design, construction and operations process.
A leader in sustainability in the built environment, Peter continues to serve as an active member of the USGBC Los Angeles Chapter, and educate his colleagues at Gensler on the practices of sustainable design. Mr. Barsuk holds an NCARB certificate, as well as Accreditation for LEED B+C. He has participated as a speaker and guest lecturer at many conferences, including events for the AIA, ASID, TedX Manhattan Beach, Silverlake Film Festival, the City of Redondo Beach, City of Manhattan Beach, Ecobuild America, ULI, the Harbor Association, and the USC Masters in Real Estate Development program.
